In UK, it is very common method to control the symptoms of pollen allergies.
The method is applying Vaseline in the nostril. Pollens break when they come into the nostril and more allergen substances come out like the time of pollination. Nasal discharge is mildly alkaline which is suited to break pollens. Vaseline prevents pollens from breaking because Vaseline is not water but mineral oil. Applying Vaseline in the nostril prevents the symptoms in the eyes because there is nerve reaction between the eye and the nose. How to apply Vaseline Apply Vaseline around the entrance of the nostril with cotton swabs. Sometimes blow your nose and apply again 3 to 4 times a day. But if you have seborrheic dermatitis which the skin is sensitive to oil, avoid using Vaseline. (1) Vaseline prevents pollens from going into the nostril, preventing the allergens of the husk. (2) Vaseline prevents crushing husk of pollens, preventing the allergens of the inside. Other preventative measures (1) Sun bathing: Vitamin D produced by sun bathing suppresses allergy reactions (15 minutes a day, 2 times a week). (2) Clean the floor: Pollens are difficult to be accumulated on the slippery floor. (3) Mask: recent masks can cut pollens by 99 %. To prevent flu, it is important to heighten the strength of the immune system. The substance that heightens the immune strength is lipopolysaccharide (LPS).
Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) can be taken from food so that it is called “Immune vitamin”. There is a type of immune cell called macrophage in the body, which eats virus and bacteria invading the body. macrophages are activated by taking lipopolysaccharide, leading to stronger immune system and healthier body. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is effective for seasonal allergies, dementia and cancer in addition to infectious diseases like a flu. The best method to prevent flu by eating food is… Eating brown rice once a day. Why eating brown rice is good? Brown rice has rice bran which is rich in lipopolysaccharide (LPS). A cup of brown rice a day gives you sufficient lipopolysaccharide (LPS). 1st: Chosen by 31 out of 100 Acupuncturists
Indications Stiff neck and shoulders, Headache, Cold intolerance, Edema, Stress, Anxiety, Insomnia, Tiredness of Eyes, Low back pain, Knee pain, Constipation, Menstrual cramps, rough skin, High blood pressure, Diarrhea, Pollen allergy, Sore throat, Toothache, Dizziness, Snoring, Ringing in ears This acupuncture point is all-around and the strongest acupuncture point effective for various symptoms all over the body. Acupuncture point Large Intestine-4 (LI4) Location of LI4 LI4 is located where the bones of the index finger and the thumb meets and is the index finger side (Fig. 1). Pressing LI4 promotes the secretion of the substance having an analgesic effect and affects the symptoms all over the body. How to press LI4 Push your thumb into the inside of your index finger and count 10 (Fig. 2). People who easily get irritated tend to have seasonal allergies!
People who easily get irritated emit age-related body odor regardless of their ages. The odor collects mites causing house dust allergy. 80 % of people who have the antibody of house dust allergy have the antibody of cedar pollen allergy. Therefore, people with house dust allergy tend to have cedar pollen allergy. The pollens becoming small cause the increase of serious pollen allergy’s patients! The size of a cedar pollen is usually one third of human hair, but the size of PM 2.5 which is chemical substance discharged from factories is one thirtieth of human hair can makes a pollen smaller. The attachment of PM 2.5 to a pollen makes cracks on the pollen, water in the air comes into the pollen from the cracks, the pollen is enlarged and broken down, producing very small pieces of the pollen. If the size of the pollens is the original size, they are passed from the body sticking to nasal discharge, but the pollens becoming small pieces pass through the back of the nose and invade deep parts of the body such as the bronchial tubes or the lungs, causing cough which doesn’t stop. Too much use of nasal sprays is dangerous! Collunarium such as nasal sprays or nasal drops contains vasoconstrictor that causes narrowing of the blood vessel. So collunarium contracts the blood vessels in the nose and temporally suppresses stuffy nose. If you use collunarium too much, the inside of the nose can be swollen on the contrary. Recommended food to prevent pollen allergy The recommended food is a lotus root. Lotus root has been very famous for improving any lung problems in the eastern medicine. When a pollen go into our body, the antibodies called IgE are produced. The more IgE is produced, the worse the symptoms of the pollen allergies become. Therefore, to prevent allergies’ symptoms, it is better not to produce IgE. Lotus roots contain polyphenol which suppresses the production of IgE. If you want to make the action of lotus roots more effective, it is good to eat with lactic acid. Polyphenol is contained more in the skin of lotus roots. It is recommended to drink amazake (sweet fermented rice drink) which contains lactic acid, adding grated lotus roots. Lotus roots also contain mucin which strengthens the barrier function of membranes, preventing the invasion of pollens. To improve seasonal allergy, it is important not to make blood sugar up and down. There is a hormone called cortisol which suppresses the symptoms caused by allergies. Cortisol also has the function to stabilize blood sugar level. If blood sugar level goes up and down drastically, cortisol is used to stabilize blood sugar level. As a result, allergic symptoms can’t be suppressed.
How should raising and lowering blood sugar level be prevented? It is necessary to decrease eating carbohydrate and eat protein such as meat or fish, and vegetables more. Because carbohydrate such as bread, white rice or noodles raises blood sugar level, decreasing the amount to eat such foods can suppress the elevation of blood sugar level. It is really recommended to stop eating sugar. Also it is important to pay attention to the order to eat when you eat carbohydrate. You should eat carbohydrate after eating a meat, a fish or vegetables. But it is important to reduce the amount of carbohydrate as much as possible. If you really want to eat white rice, it is better to eat fried rice which is coated with oil because it doesn’t raise blood sugar level so quickly. This diet is effective for other types of allergies as well. Another important thing to prevent seasonal allergy is Increase vitamin D in the body. Vitamin D has a function to regulate immune system. When something bad goes into the body, vitamin D makes the immune system work to get rid of it, and when the immune system works too much, vitamin D suppresses it. To increase vitamin D, it is good to sunbathe and eat whole fish including liver. (1) For Anti-Aging, it is good to eat canned salmon!
Red coloring matter called astaxanthin in salmon has strong antioxidant power so it is considered that it is good for anti-aging. Canned salmon enables you to eat everything including bones and skins. (2) Drinking instant coffee is effective for anti-aging! Coffee contains niacin which is effective for anti-aging, and instant coffee contains more niacin than regular coffee. Drinking 2-3 cups of instant coffee a day gives you sufficient amount to niacin for anti-aging. (3) Eating curry prevents dementia! Curry contains turmeric and Curcumine contained in turmeric decreases the substance causing Alzheimer disease. According to a research, the onset risk rate of Alzheimer disease of Indian people who eat a lot of curry is one fourth of American people. (4) Eating walnuts suppresses allergic symptoms such as pollen allergy Walnuts contain fatty acid of Omega-3 (α-linolenic acid) a lot which suppresses allergies. Eating a handful of walnut a day is effective. |
