Lung
The sign of lung diseases shows up at the tip of the index finger. When you straighten the index finger horizontally, if the tip of the nail is lower than the first joint from the tip of the finger (Distal Interphalangeal Joint (DIP)), there is a high possibility of having lung diseases (Fig. 1). Hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis) Hardening of the arteries is the condition, which is caused by unhealthy lifestyle such as lack of exercise, unbalanced diet and smoking, that LDL cholesterol attaches on the wall of the artery, narrowing the artery and stopping the blood flow. Leaving hardening of the arteries as it is, it leads to heart attack or stroke. But looking at the ear can distinguish whether you have hardening of the arteries or not. How to check whether to have hardening of the arteries by looking at the ear A Normal person’s ear doesn’t have any wrinkles (Fig. 2), but the ear of a person with hardening of the arteries has wrinkles in the ear lobe (Fig. 3). There are various types of wrinkles as shown in Fig. 4. According to a research in University of Chicago, within 376 people who had heart attack, 275 people (73 %) had wrinkles in the ear. Why do wrinkles appear in the ear? The ear lobe has few blood vessels (Fig. 5). Hardening of the arteries causes poor blood flow of all the body, nutrition is not delivered to the ear lobe and the fat in the ear withers, causing wrinkles. How to check whether to have hardening of the arteries in the brain (1) Hold your nose with your left hand (Fig. 6). (2) Hold your left ear with your right hand (Fig. 7). (3) Replace your left hand by your right hand (Fig. 8). (4) Repeat (1)-(3) for more than 10 times within 10 seconds. If you can’t do this more than 10 times within 10 seconds, there is a possibility that the blood vessels in your brain have hardening of the arteries. If you leave it as it is, there is also a risk of developing stroke. When the blood flow in the brain is poor due to hardening of the arteries, it is difficult to transmit the order from the brain and that makes difficult to do fine movements. If you can with training, you don’t need to worry because people with hardening of the arteries in the brain can’t do this no matter how many times they try.

Naomi R. New I saw Ichiro many years ago for a problem with my spine. After getting frustrated with physical therapy, Ichiro got me to the next level of wellness. He is gentle, attentive, smart and knows intuitively how to make you feel comfortable. I returned recently for a few treatments for various ailments and once again, felt better and even empowered by the treatments. If you are hesitant but curious, Ichiro is the one to try. I highly recommend him and the experience of acupuncture. When you cook burdock (Fig. 1), it is important to not get rid of scum by soaking in water (Fig. 2).
Scum contains chlorogenic acid and other nutrition which are effective to prevent diabetes, but if you soak burdock in water before cooking, all such substances flow out into water. Taste is also better when not removing scum. People whose face shows a characteristic have the risk to develop high blood sugar in the near future, resulting in serious diseases.
What kind of face leads to high blood sugar? Where the sign on the face which leads to high blood sugar shows up is nasolabial folds. The deeper the nasolabial folds are, the higher the risk of developing high blood sugar is. Nasolabial folds are the two skin folds that run from each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth (Fig. 1). Why deep nasolabial folds lead to high blood sugar? The cause of deep nasolabial folds is related to vitamin D, which is known as a nutrition that activates the metabolism of the bone and strengthens them. According to a survey in California, people who take sufficient vitamin D have a one fifth lower risk of developing type II diabetes. Lack of vitamin D causes high blood sugar in the blood vessel. Sugar damages the skin fibers, lose the elasticity of the skin and deepens nasolabial folds. Intake of vitamin D promotes the secretion of Osteocalcin from the bone, which is a substance that suppresses the elevation of blood sugar. According to a research, people who don’t have sufficient osteocalcin have 8 times more risk of developing diabetes. In winter, the amount of vitamin D in the body decreases because UV which is necessary to produce vitamin D in the body decreases, so it is important to intake vitamin D from food. Viatamin D is rich in fishes and mushrooms (Fig. 2) in this season and no other food contains vitamin D. It is recommended to eat mushrooms as often as possible to keep vitamin D in the body. What is the cause of leakage of urine and frequent urination?
The major cause is looseness of the pelvic floor muscle, which is loosened by a childbirth, aging or other reasons (Fig. 1). The looseness of the pelvic floor muscle starts at the age of 40s in the case of women and at the age of 70s in the case of men. With aging, the amount of urine being able to be stored decreases and the ability to hold urine declines. Check the risk of leakage of urine and frequent urination
If more than 3 clauses are applied, you need to be careful. If more than 5 clauses are applied, there is a possibility that your kidney or bladder has some problems. What is the relationship between constipation and leakage of urine? The pelvic floor muscle, which supports the organs under the pelvis, controls both urination and bowel movements. Since constipation tend to weaken the pelvic floor muscle, there is a high possibility that leakage of urine or frequent urination occurs with aging. Food to avoid if you have leakage of urine and frequent urination Hot spicy food such as horseradish (Wasabi), chili pepper, etc. should be avoided (Fig. 2). Fermented food such as cheese, yogurt, Kimchi, natto, etc. should be avoided (Fig. 3). According to a research, tyramine contained in fermented food is a type of amino acid and has the function to stimulate the bladder by exciting the nerves. How to improve leakage of urine and frequent urination other than food It is a good training for your bladder that you hold urine for a while when you desire to urinate. It is important to control the frequency of urination within 4 to 8 times a day. Exercise to prevent and improve leakage of urine and frequent urination (1) Step forward with one leg, putting your hands on your hips. (2) Repeat (1) 3 times and at the third time, keep the posture for 3 seconds. (3) Lower your body 3 times, exhaling strongly with saying “Ha, ha, ha”. (4) Do (1) to (3) for another leg. It is effective to do this exercise 5 sets a day and once getting used to it, 10 sets a day. This exercise tightens the pelvic floor muscle and improve leakage of urine and frequent urination. The best food to eat with canned mackerel to prevent high blood pressure is spinach.
Vitamin E contained in spinach protects EPA and DHA contained in mackerel from being oxidized. Spinach is rich in vitamin E compared to the other food and is rich in potassium which discharges salt from the body. Simple Recipe to eat mackerel and spinach Curry soup with canned mackerel and spinach (Fig. 1) Ingredients for 2 persons: Canned mackerel in brine: 1 piece Frozen spinach: 40 grams (1.5 oz.) Sliced onion: ¼ piece Curry powder: 2 teaspoons Grated ginger: ½ teaspoon Chicken bouillon cube: 1 piece Salt & pepper: a little Water: 300 ml (1.5 cup) (1) Mix the above in a heat resistant bowl. (2) Cover (1) with plastic wrap and microwave for 5 minutes. A patient with the age of 60s came to my clinic with pain in her right upper abdomen. The pain started 9 months ago and she didn’t have any idea why it had started hurting. She had been to some hospitals to have blood work, ultrasound and x-ray, but the cause of the pain was unknown.
The pain in the right upper abdomen occurred when she twisted her body and when she lifted her right knee toward her chest. First I checked her pulse. There was a sign of fracture in her pulse. When I checked the area of the pain, there were some painful points on the lower rib (coastal arch) with pressure of fingers. According to her pulse and the pain on the rib, I suspected of a hairline crack of the rib. I gave her the treatment to harmonize all the body and the treatment to remove the pain in the area, and I added the treatment for hairline crack with a special needle called Dispersion Needle. After the treatment, there was less pain when she twisted her body and when she lifted up her knee toward her chest. I gave her 2 more similar treatments and ended the course of the treatment for the pain on her rib since she didn’t feel pain with the movements of twisting and lifting her knee. There is nothing to do when nothing comes out by any tests in the hospital, but it is interesting that acupuncture has the way to approach those symptoms. The treatment method is to suppress the abnormal shrinkage of the bladder by stimulating the nerve of the bladder that has become sensitive to the desire of urination and to return the bladder to the normal state.
Where should be stimulated? The nerve of the bladder extends to the bottom of the foot. So if you stimulate the bottom of the foot by stepping or other methods, the signal is transmitted to the bladder, and the substance to suppress the bladder that has become sensitive is secreted and returns the sensitive bladder to the normal state. Stepping on something like a bamboo cut in half is good to stimulate the bottom of the foot. Stepping on it for 3 minutes in the morning and at night is recommended. You can get similar things in eBay if you search for "bamboo foot massage". To prevent flu, it is important to heighten the strength of the immune system. The substance that heightens the immune strength is lipopolysaccharide (LPS).
Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) can be taken from food so that it is called “Immune vitamin”. There is a type of immune cell called macrophage in the body, which eats virus and bacteria invading the body. macrophages are activated by taking lipopolysaccharide, leading to stronger immune system and healthier body. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is effective for seasonal allergies, dementia and cancer in addition to infectious diseases like a flu. The best method to prevent flu by eating food is… Eating brown rice once a day. Why eating brown rice is good? Brown rice has rice bran which is rich in lipopolysaccharide (LPS). A cup of brown rice a day gives you sufficient lipopolysaccharide (LPS). A guide of diabetes is blood sugar, which is the density of glucose in the blood.
People with fasting glucose levels from 80 to 100 mg/dl and post prandial blood glucose levels below 140 mg/dl are normal. People with blood glucose levels at or over 140 mg/ dl all the time are considered as high blood sugar and have a high risk of diabetes. The function of insulin, which controls blood sugar, declines with age so that diabetes patients dramatically increase at the age of 50s. Diabetes is a serious disease that causes various complications such as blindness, chronic kidney diseases requiring dialysis, necrosis. Type I diabetes develops suddenly and the cause is unknown. Type II diabetes is caused by unhealthy dietary life or lifestyle habits. Type II diabetes is talked about below. Let’s check the risk of diabetes
If more than 3 clauses are applied to you, you need to be careful of diabetes. I finish breakfast, lunch or dinner within 5 minutes. When you finish your meal within 5 minutes, sugar is delivered to the stomach and intestines rapidly, so the secretion of insulin can’t catch up and blood sugar suddenly rises. It is recommended to take more than 15 minutes to eat a meal. Eating slowly with chewing well makes you feel full and prevents overeating. I have gained more than 22 pounds (10 kg) in weight compared to when I was 20 years old. It is generally said that the weight at the age of 20 is the best weight, so if you gained more than 22 pounds, visceral fat also increases and insulin lowering blood sugar doesn’t work well, leading to diabetes. People with more than 22 pounds of weight gain have three times as high risk as people with 4 pounds of weight gain, compared to their weight at the age of 20. Key points to prevent diabetes (1) Drinking green tea People who drink more than 6 cups of green tea a day have about 30 % lower risk of developing diabetes than people who don’t drink green tea. The mechanism of the effect is unknown, but it is considered that caffeine contained in green tea raises the metabolism and helps burn fat. Coffee is as effective as green tea. (2) Always eating breakfast When you don’t eat breakfast, blood sugar after lunch and dinner rapidly rises. When you eat a meal when hungry, the secretion of insulin can’t catch up, leading to high blood sugar. When you can’t eat breakfast, drinking a glass of milk or cup of coffee is still effective not to raise blood sugar rapidly. (3) Drinking a table spoon (15 ml) of vinegar before or during a meal Acetic acid contained in vinegar slows down the absorption of sugar in the intestine and suppresses the rapid raise of blood sugar. Exercise to suppress rapid elevation of blood sugar (1) Stand straight and stand on your tiptoes (Fig. 1). (2) Drop your heels like transferring your weight to your heels (Fig. 2). It is important to have an impact on your heels because a hormone secreted from the bone, which is called Osteocalcin, encourages the pancreas to secrete insulin. Doing this exercise 30 times a day for 1 to 2 weeks delivers a certain level of effect. |
