Cozy Acupuncture will not be treating any known, or suspected, cases of Covid-19 in the office. Following are our new office procedures for the meantime:
What we need from you:
I'm delighted to announce the reopening of Cozy Acupuncture. We will take patients from May 29th. However, the risk of COVID-19 is still there and we have to make sure the safety of all the people using our service, so I needed to change the office procedures in accordance with the Department of Public Health. The followings are some of important changes.
Some important changes about office procedures: Patient Screening: Screen Patients for COVID-19 symptoms, or symptoms of respiratory illness, at the time of their appointment and before the Patient enters the treatment area. COVID-19 Risk Informed Consent: Ensure each Patient reviews, initials, and signs the COVID-19 Risk Informed Consent and scan and email it to me. Check-in Practices: Each Patient should sanitize their hands, wear a mask, measure their temperature with a contact-less thermometer prior to entering the office. (You can't come into the office until finishing these practices.) Surface Sanitization Practices: Disinfect all Patient areas between Patient appointments such as treatment tables, all therapeutic equipment, counter tops, chairs, door handles, clipboards, and garment hooks. Spacing between Patients: Avoid interaction of patients by scheduling with at least 15 minutes interval to keep social distancing. No use of waiting room: Ensure Patients directly come to the treatment room. PPE protocols: Wear a face mask and gloves, and change gloves after the treatment of each Patient. After making an appointment: Prior to your appointment, you will need to read COVID-19 Office procedures and we will email you COVID-19 Risk Consent form. The morning of your appointment I will contact you to ask whether you have any suspected symptoms of COVID-19 and if you do, you will be recommended to reschedule or contact your doctor. Payment: You will be asked to put a credit card in the system to expedite that process at the end of the treatment. eGift card, Paypal or Venmo is also welcome. I also prepared Prepaid Flex Account for regular patients instead of Packages, which can be used for you, your family and your friends and starts from $230 (5 % Off). Please click here to check them. The procedure to get treatment will become complicated, but if you accept the above procedures, please make an appointment. I'm looking forward to see you in the office. Tele-Acupuncture is a kind of Telemidicine that is scientific long distance treatment using visual information and the theory of Acupuncture medicine. Session: ZOOM is available Now I can use ZOOM to communicate with you. So if you use ZOOM, please let me know when you make an appointment. I will send you an invitation for the time of your appointment. The options to receive Tele-Acupuncture are FaceTime, Skype and ZOOM. Music in the clinic is available I will send you Instruction to receive Tele-Acupuncture before your session that includes the link for the music played in my clinic. If you like the music, you can play the music in the background during your session. How to set up your device to shoot the required area for the treatment To shoot the required area that is from the top of the head to the lower abdomen, I think that it seems better to put your device on the height of a chair when you sit on a chair as shown below. Most people tried to shoot from somewhere higher than their abdomen like a table and they had difficult time to show me the lower part of the required area for the treatment. I'm still here to help you!
Due to the spread of the Coronavirus infection, you must feel very stressful physically and mentally. I closed my clinic 3 weeks ago and it is not sure when I can start my acupuncture clinic again. But I’m still here to help you. As an alternative, I decided to provide Tele-Acupuncture. I’ve been using this treatment method to treat my parents who live on opposite sides of the earth where is 10,000 km (6,250 miles) away from Salem, MA. Now I would like to share this treatment method to help you improve your physical and mental stress. What is Tele-Acupuncture? Tele-Acupuncture provides you with not only consultation like advising you what to do or what to eat provided by Telemedicine or Telehealth, but also treatment at a distance using visual information. Tele-Acupuncture involves: Regulating 7 Chakras Chakras are the main energy centers of the body and important acupuncture points. When they are too open or too closed, that affects the body parts around the related Chakras. Tele-Acupuncture balances the opening and closing of 7 Chakras. Unblocking stagnated energy I scan the body including the area where you have pain or other health issues and remove stagnated energy to improve the flow of the energy, leading to relieving pain, tightness or uncomfortable feeling. This treatment method is performed through video chat, using the method used at the clinic when I usually diagnose, decide acupuncture points to treat or homework points. Impressions from the patients who experienced Tele-Acupuncture a step ahead of you 50s Female with stress, neck pain I want to thank you for doing telephone acupuncture on me today . Since we have to adhere to proper social distancing to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus, I really appreciate you accommodating me with telephone acupuncture. It really helped me relieve soreness and stiffness that I was having in my neck. It also relieved stress that I have been experiencing at this time. Thanks again! 40s Male with tightness and pain in his neck and upper body I could certainly feel the energy flow as my upper body and neck was very tense and tight on the left side through my trap area. In just a 20 min. session I was more relaxed, I was breathing better and more importantly my neck muscles on the left side started to lengthen as I decompressed. The session was definitely beneficial and I highly recommend it! 60s Female with stress, dryness and pain in her eyes I thought today’s tele-Acupuncture session went well. I didn’t know what to expect, so I was a little anxious at first. Since I am very open to the healing effects of acupuncture and qigong, I’m not sure from just one session if the calmness I felt was indeed from tele-acupuncture. I did notice, though, after returning from a three mile walk, I did not have to put eye drops in my eyes. Also, my mood has improved. Why can Tele-Acupuncture treat patients through video chat? This treatment method is not some kind of supernatural power but scientific treatment method (it means everybody can make it happen if they learn the method), so it is necessary to have visual information to diagnose and treat. Scientific explanation of Tele-Acupuncture is: All of our body parts have its own frequency (vibration) like the frequency of the muscle is 80 Hz. If the frequency of the body part is too high or too low, that is not healthy condition. The condition of the frequency can be detected by our eyes, which is the most sensitive sensory organ, through the screen. When we receive the unhealthy frequency through our eyes, that can distort our body. So I scan the body with my eyes, detect the body part with unhealthy frequency, recognize the distortion in my body and improve the frequency with finger-needles through the screen. As long as I can see you over the screen, the distance doesn’t matter. What are the advantages of Tele-Acupuncture? You don’t need to travel. You can save money on gas, parking, and public transportation, and you don’t waste time traveling or risk running into a traffic jam that makes you late for your appointment, or more importantly, when you feel sick and can’t go out, you can have treatment at home. . You don’t need to take time off of work. You can schedule your appointment during a break, or before or after work. You don’t need to worry about child or elderly care issues. Many of us have the responsibility for caring for children or older adults. Finding alternative care to visit the clinic can be difficult and expensive. Bringing them along can be stressful or impractical. Tele-Acupuncture solves this challenge by allowing you to have treatment while upholding your family responsibilities. You can sleep right after the treatment. There are patients who want to sleep after the treatment. If you are at home, you can sleep right after the treatment as much as you need. You can have treatment wherever you are. You can have treatment anywhere if you have your device and the Internet connection. You can be opposite sides of the earth for traveling. How to take Tele-Acupuncture Appointment: You can make an appointment Online, or email/call/text. Set your device to show me your head to lower abdomen when you sit on a chair with a back or sofa to relax your back during the session. 3. I will FaceTime or Skype to you at the time of your appointment. 4. Before and after the treatment, I may ask you to move your body to check the pain or the range of motion, so you need some space to move around you. 5. Tele-Acupuncture session takes about 20 min. Treatment Fee: Treatment fee for Tele-Acupuncture is $20 per session for now. Payment Method: 1. You can pay by your credit card every time before the session starts. 2. You can get eGift Card (5% Discount applies to values $40 and above) from here before the session and we will deduct the treatment fee from the eGift Card. If you get eGift Card, you don’t need to waste time during your session. Lastly... If the world hadn't turned into this kind of situation, I would have never thought I would provide Tele-Acupuncture that I had only used for my parents in Japan. But to tell you the truth, I’m the one who is surprised the most at the effect of Tele-Acupuncture as much as I’m starting to think that I might not be necessary to be an acupuncturist using real needles at the clinic, though I know physical touch is a very important part of healing modalities. Until I can start to treat you in-person, I will try my best to help you, using Tele-Acupuncture. If you are interested in this treatment method even only a little bit, please give it a try. Even if you are still skeptical to this method but would like to support my business at this tough time, please give it a try and feel what will happen to you. I’m looking forward to seeing you over the screen. I wasn’t sure what to expect from acupuncture but we were desperate... My 9 year old daughter had been in and out of the hospital for gastro issues. After a year of constant pain in her belly going up as high as 6-7 on a scale of 1-10, Boston Children’s hospital recommended we try acupuncture. At this point we were desperate... I googled Pediatric acupuncture and found Ichiro. I found out that the pediatric treatment is painless due to the type of tool used with a rounded tip. Who would have thought. Ichiro would give my daughter homework every week... a taped piece of penny and another one with aluminum foil on specific areas. I was skeptical at first. Yesterday was my daughters last treatment... I could cry of joy!! My daughter is pain free!!! It took about 3 months for her to get here but Here we are!!!! New testimonials were added to Testimonial Page.
Naomi R. New I saw Ichiro many years ago for a problem with my spine. After getting frustrated with physical therapy, Ichiro got me to the next level of wellness. He is gentle, attentive, smart and knows intuitively how to make you feel comfortable. I returned recently for a few treatments for various ailments and once again, felt better and even empowered by the treatments. If you are hesitant but curious, Ichiro is the one to try. I highly recommend him and the experience of acupuncture. |
