1. Ingredients that prevent heart and brain (Cerebrovascular) disease
Grated Daikon radish Isothiocyanate contained in Daikon radish breaks down fat sticking to the inside of the blood vessel, preventing the hardening of the artery. Grating Daikon radish increases isothiocyanate, compared to Daikon radish as it is. 2. A side dish that improves High Blood Pressure Potato salad Potassium is a type of minerals that is rich in green vegetables, fruits and sea vegetables. Potato contains a lot of potassium and the biggest feature is that the amount of potassium doesn’t decrease very much by cooking with heat. Potassium in most vegetables flows out by cooking with heat, but in the case of potato, only 17 % of potassium flows out by cooking with heat and more than 80 % of potassium remains. 3. Ingredients that decreases visceral fat Wakame seaweed Fucoxanthin contained in Wakame seaweed transforms the white fat storing energy to the brown fat that burns energy, decreasing visceral fat. 4. A Chinese dish that rejuvenates the blood vessel Sauteed liver and garlic chives It is known that there are 3 nutrients that rejuvenate the blood vessels, which are vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and folic acid. Liver is rich in all these 3 nutrients. When you intake all these 3 nutrients together, at first vitamin B6 repel the half of Homocysteine that damages the blood vessel and then vitamin B12 and folic acid repels the remaining half of Homocysteine. If it is liver, any of pork, chicken and beef is fine. 5. How to bathe in order to rejuvenate the blood vessel To clasp and unclasp your hands while soaking in the bath tab NO is a substance to soften the blood vessel. When you clasp and unclasp your hands, blood flow quickly increases, that stimulates the wall of the blood vessel and a lot of NO is secreted, making the blood vessel elastic. When you do this while soaking in the warm bath tab, the blood flow increases more and more NO is secreted. It is recommended to repeat 100 times of clasping and unclasping your hands with one third of the strongest clasp while soaking in the bath tab.

What is Lewy bodies?
Lewy bodies are protein deposits built up in nerve cells of the brain, that is garbage accumulated in the nerve (Fig.1). Lewy bodies can be accumulated in the nerves anywhere in the body. Lewy bodies tend to be accumulated in the temporal lobe of the brain, which creates meaning from what you see and hear. When you see a person, the temporal lobe recognizes what you see as a person. But if Lewy bodies are accumulated in the temporal lobe, when you see a hanger, the temporal lobe can recognize it as a person. This type of a disease is called Lewy body dementia (LBD). Lewy body dementia is the second most dementia after Alzheimer dementia. Initial symptoms of Lewy body dementia are: Visual hallucination (Fig. 2) Shaking and rigidity (Fig. 3) Inability to brush teeth, wear clothes, etc. Changes of physical condition within a day such as sudden spacing-out (Fig. 4) REM sleep behavior disorder is a sleep disorder in which people act out their dreams, involving abnormal behavior such as screaming, shouting, laughing, crying, arm flailing, kicking, punching, choking, and even jumping out of bed (Fig. 5). Parkinson’s disease The most obvious symptom is involuntary shaking of hands and feet. As the disease progresses, balance of the body is not good so that falling occurs easily. All the muscles become rigid, resulting in bedridden 10 years after development of the disease. The cause is considered as that Lewy bodies are accumulated in the brain stem where controls the movement of the body (Fig. 6). In recent years, it has turned out that combined application of medication and exercise improves the condition. The amount of the brain at the age of 20s is about 1200 cc for a man and about 1000 cc for a woman. But nerve cells start to decrease from 20s and the decrease is accelerated at the age of 50, causing shrinkage of the brain and deterioration of the memory. The brain of 70s shrinks by about 180 cc compared to the brain of 20s. in the case of dementia, the brain can shrink by 350 cc (a bottle of beer). But there are people whose memory declines and people whose memory doesn’t decline. What kind of people’s memory doesn’t decline even if their brain shrinks? 7 people whose age are between 60 and 70 were selected randomly and the shrinkage of their brain were checked. The ratio of the shrinkage was 7.3 % to 9.3 %. Then their memory was checked. The brain ages of 3 people out of 7 people were younger than their ages. The secret that their memory has not declined is related to seahorses in the head. The seahorses in the head are the hippocampus. The hippocampus retains information coming into the brain temporarily and sends important information required to be retained to the cerebral cortex. (Fig. 1) It is difficult to make the brain bigger because a lot of nerve cells in the brain die with age. But according to the recent research, it turns out that it is possible to enlarge and increase the nerve cells in the hippocampus. Substance that makes the hippocampus bigger and stops forgetfulness – BDNF BDNF stands for Brain-derived neurotrophic factor and is a kind of protein. BDNF is something like feed to activate the nerve cells of the hippocampus. BDNF is expected to make the hippocampus bigger, improve memory and prevent dementia. In an experiment, BDNF was administered to live nerve cells in the brain and they were cultivated for 3 days. Before the administration of BDNF, they were immature nerve cells (Fig. 2). 1st day they started to move actively and make something like threads. 3rd day they were connected each other and formed network (Fig. 3). Immature nerve cells were activated and formed network to exchange information for 3 days. How to make BDNF in a daily life The secretion of BDNF is more in young people and is less in older people. But the method to increase declined BDNF is receiving attention around the world. The method is makes BDNF using muscles. It is said that exercises increase BDNF in the hippocampus and the muscles also secretes BDNF and the secreted BDNF is transported to the brain through the blood. What kind of exercise effectively increases BDNF? It was found out that aerobic exercise such walking makes the muscles in all the body produce BDNF and increases BDNF by 10 %. The increased BDNF possibly enlarges the hippocampus. How much walking is necessary to increase BDNF? 2 women whose memory was more than their age checked their BDNF in the blood and tried walking for a week. Their BDNF increased by more than 10 %. If you are concerned about forgetfulness, it is necessary to continue walking for 1 year. The brain is damaged during summer, but that is not due to the heat or dehydration. That is because people tend to stay home where is air-conditioned to avoid heat stroke or dehydration. If you tend to stay home, you don’t walk and talk very much. No walking and no talking damage the brain during summer. If you don’t do aftercare of the brain, there is a risk that your memory falls or your thinking becomes slower. Why do no walking and no talking give bad effects to the brain? Using the muscles of the legs promotes the blood circulation to the brain. When you talk, you use the frontal lobe where speaks words and the temporal lobe where understands words so if you don’t use them, the damage to the brain increases. If so, does talking with your family prevent the damage to the brain? Talking with your family doesn’t decrease the damage to the brain. When you talk with your family, you are not careful to speak. That means you don’t need to care about whether or not the topic is interesting, or whether or not how to speak is rude. So the brain is not used so much at that time. Therefore, to reduce the damage to the brain, it is effective to talk with people other than the family. What is the damage to the brain stored during summer? If the nerve cells in the brain are personal computers and the nerve fibers which connect the nerve cells are cables, the damage due to no walking and no talking decrease the number of the cables. The decrease of the cables causes the order of the brain difficult to be transmitted. (Fig. 1) The decrease of the cables for memory causes loss of memory. The decrease of the cables for motion causes stumbling. We make various judgements when we walk. If the cable becomes thin, the transmitting speed becomes slow when we lift our legs, so we can’t lift the legs sufficiently and then we fall down. The decrease of the cables for reason causes short-temper. The frontal lobe of the brain plays a role to control emotions. The decrease of the cables to the frontal lobes causes inability of controlling emotions sufficiently. Is it possible to recover the cables once being cut? The nerve cells (personal computers) can’t be increased. The nerve fibers (cables) can be increased and can be connected to other nerve cells (personal computers). What is the aftercare method? A hint of the method is breathing in and out frequently, probing your memory. That is singing in Karaoke. While you are singing in Karaoke, various parts of the brain are used including the cables connecting personal computers. Tempo, Interval: The frontal lobe Memorizing lyrics: Memory area in the temporal lobe Breather: Motor area Also playing musical instruments increases the cables. For example, the corpus callosum (a bundle of cables) of a pianist whose left and right hands move differently is developed thickly. Another aftercare method for the brain: The method to improve the function of the hippocampus which controls memory is 10 minutes fast walking a day. The protein that activates hippocampus is produced by light aerobic exercise. |
