Stroke and heart attack are caused by the hardness of the artery, but there is a cause drawing an attention in the medical world.
The cause is constipation. Stools accumulated in the intestine produce a huge amount of toxin which damages the blood vessel, developing diseases. According to a research published on The American Journal of Gastroenterology in 2010, having constipation doubles the risk of dying from heart attack or stroke in 15 years compared to not having constipation. So it is important to solve constipation as soon as possible. In general, it is said that dietary fibers and fermented food are good for constipation. Dietary fibers increase the amount of stool and push the stool out. Fermented food regulates the intestinal bacteria, activating the movement of the intestine and promoting a bowel movement. But there are a lot of people who are suffering from constipation Even if they eat dietary fibers and fermented food regularly. The key word to improve constipation is bile acid, which is a type of digestive juices owned by everybody in the body. When bile acid and what is eaten reach the large intestine, the large intestine starts to move actively, forming and delivering stool to the anus. Food increasing the amount of bile acid reaching the large intestine The food is Allium chinense. The more water soluble dietary fiber is eaten, the more Bile acid is included in stool. Allium chinense is rich in water soluble dietary fiber. When you eat general food, bile acid is absorbed in the small intestine and barely reaches the large intestine. On the other hand, when you eat food containing a lot of water soluble dietary fiber, water soluble dietary fiber wraps around bile acid, making bile acid difficult to be absorbed in the small intestine, and bile acid reaching the large intestine activates the movement of the large intestine, improving constipation. Water soluble dietary fiber content (within 100 grams): Okura: 1.4 g Burdock: 2.3 g Allium chinense: 9.1 g Though Allium chinense is rich in water soluble dietary fiber, the amount of water soluble dietary fiber needed to eat in order to improve constipation is 6 grams per day, which is 8 pieces of Allium chinense. Bile acid is secreted more when oil is taken. It is good to stir-fry or deep fry Allium chinense because bile acid can be delivered effectively to the large intestine by taking oil and water soluble dietary fiber at the same time. Experiment: A 70 years old woman who had been suffering from constipation for 50 years and had a bowel movement once in every 3 days attended the experiment. The secretion of her bile acid was poor. She ate 8 pieces of Allium chinense per day for 5 days and had bowel movements 4 times within 5 days.

Body Temperature And Strength of Immune System Before you read below, please check your body temperature. How was that? If your body temperature is lower than 97 degrees F, it is considered as low body temperature. Simply speaking, if your body temperature is low, you are in a condition of disease or your immune power is weak, that is, you easily get sick. On the contrary, if your body temperature is high, your immune power is strong, that is, you don’t get sick easily. So how can we raise our body temperature? 1.1 Low Body Temperature There is a similarity among many people who have chronic diseases. It’s that their body temperature is low. Please try to check your body temperature. If it is less than 96.8 degrees F (36 degrees C), then your body temperature is too low. If your body temperature is low, this means that your immune function is not strong enough, and this results in an internal environment which easily becomes imbalanced and gets sick. I will talk about the details of this in the next section. Here I would like to introduce something you can do at home to improve your low body temperature - taking a bath. Bathing makes your blood circulation better and your body temperature higher, resulting in the strengthening of your immune power.
It is reported that 40 % of people become unable to walk after femoral neck fracture.
The number of people who have a femoral neck fracture is increasing every year. The biggest cause is osteoporosis, which causes bones to become weak and brittle. Because of brittle bones, a fall or even a small stress can cause a fracture. So it is important not to decrease bone density. But what are you doing to prevent osteoporosis? Are you taking a lot of calcium? According to a recent research, it has turned out that there are people whose bone density decreases even if they take sufficient nutrition to strengthen bones. There is a substance that makes us not to create bones, called Sclerostin. If Sclerostin is secreted a lot, bone density becomes lower and it becomes easy to have a fracture. Bones repeat destruction and creation by metabolism and all the bones in the body are replaced within 3-5 years. Sclerostin is a substance that orders not to make bones, so if it is secreted too much, the power to make bones becomes weak and the destruction of bones is progressed. The amount of sclerostin secretion is related to exercise. Bone density is affected more by exercise than by what you eat. The impact to the bone is important. Exercises such as tennis, fast walking or jogging transmit the impact to hip joints when a foot touches the ground. According to a recent research, it has turned out that the bigger the impact, the less the secretion of sclerostin. Exercise you can do at home and increase bone density The rise of bone density with medication is about 4 %, but the rise of bone density with medication and the exercise is about 6 %. Heel Dropping Exercise: (1) Stand on the floor as hard as possible. (2) Lift up your heels. (3) Drop your heels. If you engage your mind to your hip joints, it is more effective. It is recommended to do this exercise 30 times a set for 3 sets a day. The condition of the heart can be presumed by the color of nails. (1) Squeeze the nail part of an index finger for about 5 seconds. (2) Release the index finger in 5 seconds. (3) Observe the color of the nail. (4) Count the time to return to the original reddish nail from whitish nail (Fig. 1). If the time was within 2 seconds, you could survive when the coronary artery was clogged. If the time was more than 2 seconds, you couldn’t survive. Experiment 11 persons with the ages of 60s attended the experiment. 6 persons’ nails returned to the original reddish color within 2 seconds and according to an ultrasound examination, all 6 persons’ hearts were softer and younger than their ages. On the other hand, 5 persons whose nail didn’t return to the original reddish color within 2 seconds had harder and older heart than their ages. What is the relationship between the color of nail and the condition of the heart? What is observed from the nail color returning test is the condition of capillaries. Capillaries deliver nutrition and oxygen to the whole body. The length of capillaries, if they are all connected, is about two and a half rounds of the earth. If capillaries can be confirmed clearly, it proves that the function of capillaries and the blood flow is maintained. The capillaries in the nail of the person who took 1.8 seconds to return to the original color are clearly seen (Fig. 2-Left). On the other hand, the capillaries in the nail of the person who took 4 seconds to return to the original color are not clearly seen (Fig. 2-Right). The condition of the capillaries in the heart can be analogized from the finger. Maintaining the function of capillaries is the secret to invigorate the heart. The capillaries maintaining the function decrease with age. If the function of capillaries declines, nutrition and oxygen don’t reach throughout the heart, and the risk of heart diseases becomes higher. On the contrary, if capillaries are active, there is a possibility that you can survive even if a coronary artery is clogged. 99.9 % of blood vessels in our body are capillaries. The heart requires large amount of oxygen to expand and contract, so the heart has more capillaries than other organs (Fig. 3). Characteristics of capillaries Con: The function of capillaries declines with age. By aging, blood can’t pass through capillaries or capillaries disappear. Pro: New capillaries can be created (Fig. 4 & 5). When a coronary artery is clogged and the heart doesn’t have enough oxygen, new capillaries extend from another carotid artery to the clogged coronary artery in order to deliver blood to the area where oxygen is insufficient. How to elevate the function of capillaries There is nutrition that elevates the function of capillaries and prevents heart attack. The nutrition is Taurine. Taurine is rich in seafood, especially in shells, octopus, squid and blue back fishes.
2.5 Heart Energy
The Heart sends Blood all over the body. The Heart belongs to Fire energy within the 5 organs’ energy. (Liver=Wood, Spleen=Earth, Lung=Metal, Kidney=Water) Heart energy is Fire energy, which means Heart energy is hot. So Heart energy is the strongest Yang energy within 5 organs’ energy. The Heart repeats the movement of contraction all day without any rest and generates heat which is necessary for the whole body. So in the case of menopausal disorders, when the Heart energy stagnates, we experience heat rising suddenly from the chest, causing a hot flash, palpitations, and profuse sweating. In Western medicine, our mental activity is regarded as controlled by the brain, but in Eastern medicine, it is regarded as controlled by Heart. So when we have some trouble in our mind, we feel tightness in our chest, or when we are nervous, our heart rate gets faster. Mental disorders, hallucinations and auditory hallucinations are considered to be Heart energy problems. As the Liver controls the eyes, the Heart controls the tongue. If there is dysfunction of the brain, speech becomes unclear, so it is important to move the tongue a lot for preventing senile dementia. The organ which has strong relationship to the Heart and also has Fire energy is the Small Intestine. So if there is a problem in the Small Intestine, the tongue gets some pimples or gets rough. Recently there is a doctor who states that the heart is in the Small Intestine. Cataract is the disease that lens of the eye becomes cloudy due to aging, causing blurry vision, double or triple vision. As a result of that, cataract disturbs daily life. The risk of causing a car accident in people with cataract is about 2.5 times more than people with normal vision.
50 % of vision loss all over the world are caused by cataract. In Japan, 30 % of 40s have cataract, the rate increases with age, and almost 100 % of 80s have cataract. Progression of cataract makes the visual field yellowish. Yellowish visual field makes it difficult to recognize blue light. The fire of oven is blue that is difficult to recognize whether it is on or not, and that causes the risk to ignite clothes. Let’s check if you have cataract or not! Q. What animals are drawn in the circle? (Fig. 1) A. There are 3 animals. If you can’t see a bird, there is a high possibility that you have severe cataract. If you can’t see a rabbit, there is a possibility that you have moderate cataract. If you can’t see a dog, there is a possibility that you have slight cataract (Fig. 2). Vitamin C is effective for cataract According to a research, the group of people who take more vitamin C had 40 % less risk of cataract development than the group of people who take less vitamin C. The food rich in vitamin C is paprika, which contains twice the amount of vitamin C in lemon. Paprika also contains vitamin P which prevents the breakdown by heating so that the density of vitamin C is kept high even if cooked. A half of paprika a day achieves the daily required amount of vitamin C. Surgery for Cataract Progressed cataract should be operated. The surgery for cataract is finished within 10 minutes if the surgeon is skilled. (1) Insert a thin tube and break cloudy part of lens with ultra-sound (Fig. 3). (2) Remove the broken lens (Fig. 4). (3) Implant an artificial lens (Fig. 5). Suhas While playing basketball I pulled my periformis (the muscle that moves your leg laterally) that resulted in it clamping down on the sciatica nerve. The pain was continuous and I could only manage a couple hours of sleep before I had to remain standing the rest of the night, staring out the window.
