When they tonify Yin (Eiki) in Yin Meridian, generally speaking it is good to tonify a little longer, that means more than 6 seconds. So I was counting at least 6 seconds sometimes. But it seems better to remove even if it is just 3 seconds or so if Ki reaches the point. It depends on the patients but if it is too long, the pulse tends to pound even if it was good when light stroke was applied to the point.
