While playing basketball I pulled my periformis (the muscle that moves your leg laterally) that resulted in it clamping down on the sciatica nerve. The pain was continuous and I could only manage a couple hours of sleep before I had to remain standing the rest of the night, staring out the window. I had never pursued acupuncture before but I was willing to try anything. I’d already missed four days of work, visited my doctor, a chiropractor and gone to the ER. Nothing short of Vicodin provided relief and that was more medication than i wanted to undergo. Out of options, I decided to give acupuncture a try even though I had no experience with it. Ichiro at Cozy Acupuncture was able to take me same-day
I was amazed to feel relieved of 90% of the pain after the first treatment. I felt so good I started on some yard work. That ended in about ten minutes when an awkward movement sent me crawling back to the couch. I went back the next day and this time remembered to take it easy afterwards. I learned that acupuncture is very effective in reducing pain but the underlying healing process will take its time. Treatment took about 3 weeks and about 8 sessions. It was of great benefit in helping me get through my day. Ichiro explained the principles and tools of acupuncture and was very respectful with instructions and contact during treatments. He was very good at isolating and treating pain points as well as identifying areas that needed treatment that I hadn’t pointed out. In my experience, acupuncture is highly preferable to medications and their assorted side effects. I would highly recommend Ichiro for acupuncture treatment especially if you haven’t experienced acupuncture before.
After a year of twice monthly sessions at Cozy, I can attest to the skill and extensive knowledge that Ichiro Shoji applied to my evolving physical and emotional needs.
I highly recommend his treatments, wisdom and professional approach to the delivery of Acupuncture.
I highly recommend Cozy Acupuncture. Ichiro Shoji is a very caring, calm and skilled acupuncturist with healing hands. He treats the whole person, not just your obvious symptoms. After much research, I began seeing Ichiro in February. His treatments are very effective. He resolved my complaints of dry eyes (major problems for 2 years) and tooth discomfort from a recent extraction. My digestive issues are improving, and I feel happier and less anxious. I see Ichiro every two weeks. His rates are very reasonable. Acupuncture helps to calm my mind, and enables me to truly relax. I especially enjoy the soft, meditative background music. I hardly feel the small, thin needles, and the accompanying back massage feels wonderful! I look forward to my acupuncture appointments with Ichiro, and would not hesitate to recommend Cozy Acupuncture to family and friends.
I've seen him weekly for a couple of years. I was a bit nervous in the beginning anticipating the needles. While you do feel a prick, of course, there is no ongoing pain. Now, he primarily does acupressure which does not involve needles. In addition to the help with various health issues, I find it a guaranteed peaceful and relaxing experience each week.
I have had acupuncture before, but the acupuncturist did not take the time to listen to my complaints and needs. I went to Cozy Acupuncture with complaints of lower back and knee pain. After talking with Ichiro he also started treating me for symptoms that occur during my menstrual cycle. Something I never would have thought of getting acupuncture for! After visiting Cozy Acupuncture for the past few months, my knee pain and back pain are almost nonexistent. My menstrual cycle has improved as well, with decreased bleeding and less cramping. The sessions last around one hour and are painless and relaxing! I highly recommend Cozy Acupuncture and Ichiro!
After months of going to the physician assistant at the Orthopedic dr and having ex-rays, given a boot to wear, ankle brace, ibuprofen, ice bags and told to stay put and off my ankle I reached the en of my pateince and could not walk at all unless I wanted severe pain I found Ichiro Shoji and he gave acupuncture treatment . One treatment and the pain was gone, I could walk freely on my ankle without any pain. The dr had told me it would be months since I had severly sprained my ankle when I fell. I went back for another treatment with Ichiro and was very pleased. His kind , gentle calming ways helped me relax, and this method of acupuncture had helped greatly! I went back for another treatment for safe measure and was very pleased I highly recommend Ichiro Shoji for any acupuncture treatment needs
Ichiro is one of the finest healers I have ever worked with .He has helped me both physically and emotionally with his gifted approach to acupuncture and other healing arts.
I would ,and have recommended him to anyone wishing to raise their level of health with alternative medicine.
I have used acupuncture over the years but have never had the depth and speed of results as I have had with Ichiro. I went initially for a debilitating symptom: hotflashes. These have been mitigated and almost eliminated
after less than 10 sessions. In addition he has treated other ailments: physical pain/stiffness, digestive issues, allergies, lethargy, as well as reducing the severity and length of a common cold. The treatments are totally pain free and extremely relaxing. My past practitioners were highly regarded and professors at the New England School of Acupuncture. Ichiro’s treatments are more powerful.

Ichiro Shoji is a wonderful acupuncturist and healer. In addition to treatment sessions, his gentle, one suggestion at a time approach helped me make lasting changes to my daily living practices which has led to a 70-pound lasting weight loss. My primary health challenges have been a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, obesity and depression. With Ichiro’s help, the quality of my life has improved and I no longer feel stuck in the chronic cycle of medication, side effects and further medication and associated complications. Rather, my self-care is more consistent and during times of setbacks, they are minor rather than major thanks to the ongoing work and treatment with Ichiro. Without question, I highly recommend him!
Ichiro Shoji is a gifted Acupuncture practitioner.
I have used Acupuncture as an approach to holistic health for 40 years and he is one of the best I have experienced.
The scope of his treatment is broad: appetite control, allergies, physical & emotional balance.
The depth of his work is profound and lasting.
I have an appointment twice a month.
I can not say enough good words regarding Dr. Ichiro. Extremely serious, he listens very carefully to his patient, his needs and he knows exactly what to do to help him. A chronic pain that the modern medicine couldn't treat was gone after only 5 sessions with Dr. Ichiro. I go to see him every time I do not feel good and I do not see my regular doctor anymore. I also take my 3 years old to boost her immune system and she did not have any cold last winter. He also helped her with her sleep problems and it worked ! he is extremely soft with children and he works with them. My daughter loves him and feels very confortable with him. I continue to see Dr. Ichiro on a regular basis for specific health issues. He even detected a health problem that my PCP never saw !
His method is very soft, he used needles just few times and this was absolutly not painful. I had tried different acupunturists before and I have to say that he did "some miracles". I couldn't recommended him enough. Do yourself a favor and go to see him, you will not regret it. After a session, you feel regenerated and full of energy. You also feel that your body "works" and is in peace and in harmony with itself.
I have been seeing Ichiro Shoji for acupuncture for a couple of months. I didn’t know much about acupuncture, especially Japanese acupuncture, before I met Ichiro. The techniques are a bit different but he explains them well. I was referred by my massage therapist after session with her. I’m glad she did. He has been very helpful and I recommend him highly.
I see Ichiro on a regular basis for different reasons. I work a lot, and I have a very physical job so I have lots of aches and pains. Recently. however, I was experiencing slight vertigo (dizziness). I have never experienced this before, but I heard it is not a pleasant experience. I told Ichiro at the beginning of my session about this new problem I had. He performed his usual magical acupuncture session, and by the time I was off the table, I felt cured! I felt much more reinforced, and the dizziness was gone. I was blown away! He is definitely worth having as a regular health care practitioner. He keeps me working, and that's all that matters. Thank you, Ichiro.
I have been treated by Ichiro for over 3 month on acute sinusitis/allergies. Along with a skiing accident this year, which split my knee open down to the muscle.
Rather than continuing to take Western Medicine, often masking pain and healing. I opted to look for alternative solutions. I found Ichiro
Ichiro works with Acupuncture/Kiko Healing using the meridian of the body thru needles and pressure points finding the best ways to stimulate heal.
~ With my knee swelling/weakness of the muscle/flexibility/balance was an issue…today climbing stair is not an issue and my knee is down to normal size. A 6" scar has been reduced to 3", growing smoother and smaller.
~ Allergies - still have and know that it could take longer to balance out. BUT, I am ok with that, as breathing at night with a clear sinus and not waking with headaches has been great!!
~ I would and do recommend anyone who would like to explore alternative medicine - getting back to natural way of life, please check out Ichiro @firstname.lastname@example.org to book your appointment.
~ Remember, as with everything this is not an overnight miracle - give it time to work/heal and you will be amazed.
