An easy method to prevent Dementia is smelling the scent of rosemary.
Dementia is a disorder of neurons in the brain and is caused by the damage of the hippocampus which controls memory. The hippocampus is deeply related to neurons detecting smells so stimulating the sense of smell can activate the hippocampus, leading to the prevention of dementia.
According to the research, among a lot of kinds of smells, rosemary was the most effective. Among rosemaries, rosemary camphor is the most effective.
More effective way is to differentiate the scent at night from the sent during the daytime. So it is effective to smell the scent of rosemary camphor during the daytime and smell the scent of lavender at night and among the scents of lavenders, true lavender is the most effective.
An easy way to smell these scents is dropping a few drops of the aroma oils on a ball of tissue or a cotton ball and placing it beside you and smelling the scents for 2 hours each. The most effective way is using a diffuser which spreads scent of aroma in the room. If you are not at home very much, it is recommended to use an aroma pendant which enables you to smell the scent of aroma oils away from home.
The initial symptom of dementia is not defect of memory but being unable to differentiate smells. It is difficult to feel bad smells at the beginning. For example, when you cook something in the kitchen,
Even if something is burnt, you don’t feel the burnt smell.
Doing something you usually do in your daily life with the opposite hand to your dominant hand is effective to prevent dementia. For example, brushing your teeth, using a smart phone or picking up coins from your wallet with the opposite hand to your dominant hand makes you use neurons in the brain usually unused, resulting in the prevention of dementia.
Mutton is effective to prevent dementia because mutton contains 3 times the carnitine of beef and 9 times the carnitine of pork, which is a substance effective to prevent dementia. The secretion of carnitine in the body starts to decrease after the age of about 50 so it is recommended to eat mutton sometimes if you are more than 50 years old.
