Beets are in the spinach family although they look like a turnip. Nitrate contained in beets turns into Nitrogen monoxide that widens blood vessels. That makes the blood flow better and lowers the blood pressure.
4. Grape Seed Oil
Grape seed oil is pressed from the seeds of grapes. It tastes milder than olive oil and contains more essential fatty acids. Grape seed oil contains 4 times as much vitamin E as olive oil. Strong antioxidant effect of vitamin E is expected to slow down aging process. A table spoon a day is good amount. Putting grape seed oil on salad elevates the absorption of the nutrients.
Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae. 70 % of spirulina is protein while only 27 % of chicken tenderloin is protein. Spirulina also contains all 9 kinds of essential amino acids that the human body can’t produce.
2. Glutinous Barley
Glutinous barley is a type of barley and contains 4 times as much dietary fiber as brown rice which is famous for containing a lot of dietary fiber. When you eat a cup of white rice which contains 50 % of glutinous barley, you can take as much fiber as a piece of burdock. Dietary fiber in glutinous barley makes bowel movement better because the dietary fiber in glutinous barley is mostly water soluble dietary fiber. So glutinous barley provides stools in the intestines with water, making the stools soft.
1. Broccoli Sprout
Broccoli sprout is rich in sulforaphane that is expected to suppress cancer. The amount of sulforaphane in broccoli sprout is 20 times as much as the amount in broccoli that is considered as containing a lot of sulforaphane.
Addition: Chaga mushroom (Inonotus obliquus)
Chaga mushroom is a fungus in the family Hymenochaetaceae and is parasitic on birch. It grows in cold areas such as Russia and northern areas of the United States.
Chaga mushroom is rich in Beta-glucan which has strong action to strengthen the immune system so it helps to prevent life style related diseases.
